As busy parents, we find that our schedules are packed with things that must be done on daily basis. However running behind your children and trying to make them behave, unfortunately is not a form of exercise.

Awesome! So just like the rest of your schedule, you need to set some time aside for exercise. Depending on how you intend to address this, will determine how much time you need to set aside. For me, time was a huge issue when I started working on my health and fitness goals, but I found a way to allocate 45 minutes for exercise. The best times for me to exercise was either early in the morning before my crazy day begun or late at night after kids went to bed. Either way the key here is to set your intentions and allocate time for exercise.
Above suggestion really works best if you are doing your exercises at home, so turn your home into a gym. Today, there are many options available and with a quick search, you are bound to find an effective home fitness program that will help you get in shape. This can be in a form of DVD’s or even online fitness programs, but either way is a huge time saver because you don’t need to leave your home! Quite frankly speaking, that was the only option for me to address my health and fitness goals.

But let’s just say that you do not have an effective way to address your health and fitness goals working out at home. Now what? Well, this post is all about CREATIVE fitness ideas, so perhaps you could find something active to do with your children. You could also find other things to do at home that involves your children. Perhaps a dance fitness routine could be fun, or some yoga stretches. When you lead by example, your kids will take notice and will ask if they could join you. I only know this from my personal experience. Sure it took them a few weeks before they asked, but once they seen the consistency of me working out and that I was serious, it changed the game! You can also come up with fun fitness challenge ideas to keep engagement. For example, keep track of how many push ups they can do one week and try to beat it the next.
So physical activity is great, but you should not forget about the nutrition. As a last creative fitness ideas, put some focus on healthy eating. Encourage water consumption over sodas, vegetable snacks over chips and be on a constant search for healthier meals and lifestyle.
